Not as well designed or made as a previous model

Not as well designed or made as a previous model. Earlier model of this mens sandal had 2 advantages over the current one:
Firstly, the strap which is located at the front of the ankle is a double loop. It is not as easy to slide my foot into the sandal as it was with the previous design. That one had a single layer loop which was adjustable using velcro but fastened using a plastic clip. The clip was easier to use as the length did not require adjusting every time I put the sandal on.
Secondly, the quality of the materials used in the current design looks and feels "cheap". The previous model appeared to be of higher quality.
I would still be wearing my old sandals if my puppy hadn't used them as a chew toy a couple of years ago.
