Good Look, Poor Build

Nice fusion of streetwear / hiker in the Verge, but they do not last long. I owned mine just over a year (two summers) before the right foot front right strap released from the footbed. I was surprised to learn the ~2in. of webbing was only fastened under the insole with glue. I swam in them once. The Hurricane Verge has nothing on my 10+ year-old Birkenstock Milanos in oiled leather.

Lasted only 1 year

I bought this to replace my previous Teva which lasted 8 years. Hiked all over the world, used in water and out.

This shoe here lasted only 1 year before the straps detached from the sole. Poor build quality. Not attached solidly - only glued. Water reduces the effectiveness of the glue and then it releases.

Good only for dry hiking or short term ownership.

Worst Teva sandal to date

I’ve had Teva’s for at least 20 years now and these were utterly disappointing. The straps loosen consistently just by walking, and it lacks the easy comfort I’ve grown accustomed to from this brand. I’m sad they discontinued the Hurricane Xlt2 Alp - these were the last ones I bought which were absolute jems!

The cross strap just doesn’t cut it

I bought these to replace my hurricane xlt2 alt’s which I absolutely loved as a short distance hiking sandal. Sadly Teva discontinued my favorites and the verge looked to be closest, but the cross strap really ruins the utility for me.

The main strap utterly fails to keep your heel in place, and trying to lock it down with the heal strap just pushes your foot over the front of the foot bed. I feel like they kept the rugged looks but totally broke the utility of this sandal.

Please bring back the hurricane alp because this revision doesn’t cut it.
