Born and raised in North Carolina, Ron moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2013 to become an outdoor guide and educator. He has helped lead students, veterans, and people with cognitive disabilities on adventures that include dog sledding in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, rafting through the Grand Canyon, and canoeing rivers all across the country. Ron now spends a majority of his time advocating for outdoor recreation in historically black colleges and universities, as well as partnering with outdoor brands to inspire people to get outside.
