Carried me through Algonquin

I took these to Algonquin park in may this year on the western uplands trail. Even in pouring rain and bogged with mud in the treads I wasn’t slipping on the rocks any more than my friends in hiking boots were. Having open toed shoes in the wet conditions was great since they’d dry fast and I wasn’t stuck with perpetually damp shoes once they got wet on the first day. I did get an abrasion on the top of my foot from the front strap after continuous walking in bare feet but everyone in boots suffered from blisters so it was just the price to pay. My feet never hurt from walking for hours and if my legs weren’t tired I could have gone further.
